Powering your next desktop: Meet the ASUS ROG Strix 1000W Platinum
A desktop’s power supply deserves attention alongside its processor and graphics card. It supplies electricity to the system’s components, making power quality and protection features important considerations when planning a build.
The ASUS ROG Strix 1000W Platinum is a premium option for gaming desktops and demanding workstations. Its 1000W capacity provides room for power-hungry components, although many mid-range gaming systems can comfortably use a suitable power supply with a lower rating.

Its 80 PLUS Platinum certification describes its efficiency in converting electricity from the wall into usable power for your computer. Less energy is lost as heat compared with a less efficient supply operating under equivalent conditions.
The fully modular design allows you to connect only the cables your build needs, helping reduce cable clutter. It supports the ATX 3.1 standard and includes both a modern 12V-2x6 graphics power cable and conventional PCIe 6+2-pin connections.
Independent reviews have reported strong electrical performance, including stable voltages and effective filtering of electrical ripple. The unit also includes protection against conditions such as excessive current, overheating and short circuits.
Backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty, the ROG Strix 1000W Platinum is worth considering for builders who want a premium power supply with capacity for more demanding hardware. Check your case clearance, connections and complete system requirements before choosing.
